The history of Scheuten

Discover Scheuten's journey, since 1950.

1950

Established

In 1950, Jacques Scheuten's father, Joseph Scheuten, started processing various types of plate glass in Venlo. Scheuten did not employ any staff at this time. 

1970

Pioneer

Scheuten was one of the first Dutch companies to produce glass for thermal insulation. At that time, Scheuten had 5 employees.

1980

First acquisitions

After insulating glass, Scheuten introduced laminated glass to the Dutch market. The Scheuten organization has expanded to approximately 250 employees.

1990

The international market

Scheuten continues to innovate and expands its product range with tempered glass. Scheuten sets foot in Belgium and grows by 35 people.

1995

Expansion

Scheuten starts selling coated glass. The Scheuten organization is expanding again. This time with 30 people.

Our progressive and personalised approach has allowed us to become the market leader in the Netherlands.

2010

Knowledge is shared

Scheuten Academy is founded. With practical workshops, training sessions and education, Scheuten shares valuable knowledge with loyal customers in order to expand further in the industry.

2020

Growth

Scheuten is part of the Glas Trösch Group in Switzerland, a glass manufacturing and processing group with more than 65 branches and more than 6,000 employees.
